Q1. What is included in the price of a balloon in a box gift?
All our balloon in a box gifts include the following:
An 18” helium balloon and decorative weight with 19mm wide personalised printed message attached to the balloon so that when the box is opened by the recipient the message floats up on the balloon ribbon. We are one of only a few companies that offer this extra personalised message service.
A generous sprinkling of sparkly metallic confetti sprinkled around the bottom of the box with party poppers and smaller air filled balloons decorating the bottom of the balloon box.
Balloon box lined with colour co-ordinated tissue paper and gift wrapped with a ribbon and 2 colour hand made large bow.
Q2. How do you place an order for a balloon gift delivery?
To place an order is as easy as 1,2,3…….
1) Select your balloon/s by viewing our extensive range on the website by celebration type
2) Check delivery area and any relevant charges
3) Ring us on 0780 1060658 to arrange delivery
When you contact us please have to hand the following details to ensure a smooth order transaction:
Balloon Order Code/s for the balloon/balloons you are interested in
Decide if you would like any extras to make a deluxe gift such as teddy bears or chocolates
Type of balloons - If applicable in the delivery area – decide whether you would like a bouquet or balloon in a box gift
Message to be printed on the ribbon for balloon in a box gifts and larger balloon bouquets. As an alternative, we can also offer the conventional message card if required.
Delivery date and method required – same day hand delivery (see conditions), next day or future date hand delivery or next day Royal Mail Special delivery by 1.00pm.
Recipient’s name and address
Contact details for payment – Name, address, credit/debit card number and email address.
Q3. How will my balloon gift be delivered?
We can deliver by hand in the local area click here for hand delivery area details. We can also send balloon in a box gifts nationally through the Royal Mail Special Delivery network guaranteed delivery by 1.00pm. Please see sections below on order deadlines for hand delivery and Royal Mail Special Delivery.
Q4. Do you accept balloon gift bookings on-line?
We have purposefully not set up an e-store as we prefer the personal approach. For same day delivery telephoning gives you confirmation that your order is in stock and can be delivered on the same day. If you require a delivery other than same or next day delivery by all means email your order giving details mentioned above ensuring you leave a contact telephone number for payment to be taken.
Q5. What type of balloons do you use?
We use both latex and Microfoil balloons in our balloon delivery and décor work. We use the market leader manufacturers that are of the best quality.
Q6. How long will my balloon gift last?
We do our utmost to ensure that the float life of your balloon in a box gift, balloon bouquet or balloon decorations is as long as possible. We treat all our latex helium balloons for arrangements with the industry recommended flight extender that can increase the flight time of balloons by up to 25 times! We also prepare our balloons as near as possible to the delivery or event date.
The actual float time depends on a number of factors:
- The size and shape of the balloon – the larger the balloon the longer it floats – we use latex balloons from 11” to 3ft balloons and foil (mylar) from 18” to over 3 ft in size.
- The type of balloon – latex or foil (mylar)
- Temperature and atmospheric conditions.

A properly inflated 18” helium filled Microfoil balloon will float for at least 3-5 days sometimes even longer even with losing some helium. Microfoil balloons can be easily be re-inflated by a balloon professional with helium.

Q7. What time will my balloon gift be delivered to the recipient?
For balloon gift deliveries by hand we cannot guarantee the exact time of delivery as it will depend on the delivery route of all orders. However, please mention any special requests at the time of booking and we will try to accommodate. Please try to give an address where the recipient is likely to be so that the balloon gift does not have to be left elsewhere or returned to Ashby Balloons. Balloon in a box gifts sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery are guaranteed to arrive by 1.00pm if the correct order process has been followed.
Q8. Can you deliver balloon in a box or balloon bouquets same day?
Yes we can deliver balloon in a box or balloon bouquets (bunches of balloons) same day in the local area subject to conditions. Please see map for delivery area. Orders need to be placed and paid for by 2.00pm. There is a range of balloons that are highlighted as best sellers covering most occasions - these are guaranteed to be in stock for same day delivery. You can also choose from the wider range and we can check availability for you.
Q9. What time do I have to order by for same day delivery?
Orders need to be placed and paid for by 2.00pm, to give time for processing and delivery.
Q10. What time do I have to order by for next day delivery?
For nationwide Royal Mail Special Delivery service please ensure order is placed and paid for by 3.00pm on the day prior to the required delivery date. Please note Royal Mail Special Delivery Service does not deliver on a Sunday and charge £2 more for delivery on a Saturday.
Q11. Do you offer weekend deliveries?
Yes subject to availability please note there will be the odd occasion where we cannot accept same day deliveries.
Q12. Can you deliver anywhere in the UK?
We can hand deliver in the local Ashby, Coalville, Shepshed area (see Map for delivery area)
Q13. Can a balloon gift be delivered to a patient in hospital?
Yes we can arrange a balloon gift to be delivered to a patient in hospital. It will be hand delivered if the hospital is local, alternatively it will be sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery. At the time of booking please ensure you advise the full name of the patient and the ward they are staying. We do not recommend latex balloons to be delivered to hospitals but our Microfoil / mylar balloons are accepted by all hospitals (indeed some hospitals sell balloons – but not the choice that we offer).
Q14. Can I collect a balloon gift from Ashby Balloons?
Yes, of course you can as long as you arrange it at the time of booking so we can prepare it ready for collection at the agreed date and time.
Q15. I have some balloons that need filling with helium can you help?
For a small charge we will gladly inflate your balloons as long as the packaging states they are helium quality. We cannot be held responsible for the float life of your chosen balloons. For an extra charge we can add the flight extender that we use for our latex balloons to your helium quality latex balloons. We accept Maestro, Solo, UK Visa & UK Visa Electron debit cards and Amex, Maestro, JCB, MasterCard & Visa Credit cards
We also accept cash if collected from Ashby Balloons by prior arrangement.
Q17. How much is delivery?
Delivery charges depend on the method of delivery – hand delivery or national delivery through the Royal Mail Special Delivery network. We do not charge a surcharge for hand delivering same day in the local area as long as the order is placed and paid for by 2.00pm – See our hand delivery area map and charges .
Q18. Do you offer any discounts / special offers?
We always aim to offer a bouquet of the month and look out for special offers of added extras included in the price.
Q19. I want a balloon for a specific event / theme and it is not shown on your website. Can you get it?
We try to stock as wide a range as possible watching out for current trends. There are literally millions of balloons on the market so we cannot possibly stock every one. However, we have links with the main balloon manufacturers and can probably source what you are looking for.
